KYIV – LVIV TOUR PROGRAMME
3 days in Kyiv + 3 days in Lviv |
Day 1 – Kyiv
Arrival to Kyiv. Pick-up at the airport. From the airport, go on a guided bus tour of the Golden-Domed capital of Ukraine visiting St.Sophiya Cathedral – the main church of Kyiv Rus (XI c), Golden Gates, St.Volodymyr's Church, completely restored St.Mykhailo's monastery and Rastrelli's masterpiece - St. Andrew's Church. Hotel check-in. L unch (optional). Free time for s ouvenir shopping and rest. Welcome dinner at a national Ukrainian restaurant with live music.
Day 2 - Kyiv
After breakfast, go for an n excursion to “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” Monastery, an orthodox center of Ukraine since XI c. Tour of the monastery grounds, caves, Trinity Church , bell tower and a visit to the Museum of Ukrainian Folk Art a nd Ukrainian Museum of Historical Treasures. Have l unch at the typical Kyiv restaurant “Pervak.” After lunch you can choose to walk down the most ancient cobblestone street of Andriyivskyy Uzviz - the "Montmatre of Kyiv - and Old Podil. Continue your souvenir shopping, visit private galleries and craft shops.
Dinner on your own and visit to the theatre or concert, if available. (Optional)
Day 3 - Kyiv
After early breakfast and hotel check-out, start on a bus tour to Chernihiv (150 km), one of the ancient cities of Europe . Take a city Tour around Chernihiv, visiting Antoniy's Caves with earth (XII cent.) and stone (XVII cent.) churches; Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral (1st half XI cent.) - the main cathedral of Chernihiv; Borisoglebsky Cathedral (XII cent.) - the prince's church, Svyatoslavichy's burial-vault; Troitsky Cathedral (XVII cent.) - member's of higher orders of Chernihiv's clergy cathedral; Optional: Chernihiv's Collegium (XVIII cent.) - the first high school on the left-bank Ukraine . Cathedral belfry which gives an opportunity to observe a wonderful panorama of the city. After lunch break and some free time in the city center, you return to Kyiv. Dinner in Kyiv and departure for the railway station to take an overnight train to Lviv.
Day 4 - Lviv
Early arrival to Lviv . Pick - up at the railway - station. Early check-in to hotel and breakfast at the hotel.
Bus-tour around the city - become familiar with the history, culture and scientific life of Lviv. Take a look at the architectural monuments of the XIV-XX centuries - the University "Lviv Polytechnica", the National University, St.George's Cathedral, see the spectacular panoramic view of the city from High Castle . Lunch at Hotel "Grand".
A trip to the open-air Museum of Folk Architecture - take a look at ancient wooden architecture: old mills, farms and churches. Dinner at a typical Lviv restaurant (on your own). After dinner you can stroll along Night Lviv.
Day 5 - Lviv
After breakfast go on a walking tour around Down-town: get acquainted with the medieval city. A visit to the Boim chapel, the Pharmacy Museum, Latin Cathedral, Armenian church, Orthodox church, Italian Courtyard and Royal Parlors of the History Museum. Lunch at the hotel or in the city center. After lunch you are invited to visit the Ukrainian National Museum (exhibitions of icons and applied art).. Free time in the city center. You will have time to visit local antique shops or buy souvenir at open-air bazaar with local crafts (wood-carving, embroidery, paintings, ceramics, etc). Dinner on your own plus visiting a performance at the Opera House, when available (optional)
Day 6 – Lviv
After early breakfast start on a trip to the town of Zhovkva (a beautiful town from XVIth c., the former residence of the Polish King Jan III Sobeski) and Krekhiv Monastery of St. Basil's order from XVIIth c. Walk to the Holy Spring and enjoy the beautiful nature of the Ukrainian countryside. Lunch (optional) Return to Lviv. Free time in the city centre. Farewell dinner. Entertainment programme (for groups of 15+ pax)
Day 7
Breakfast. Hotel check out. Departure for the airport.
